EMDR Therapy — Evidence Based Therapy

What It Is

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. Through guided bilateral stimulation, EMDR supports the brain's natural ability to recover and integrate difficult memories.

How It Helps

EMDR can be an effective therapeutic option for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, phobias, addiction, and the lasting effects of distressing life experiences. Rather than needing to talk through every detail, EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.

What to Expect

The pace and focus of EMDR therapy are guided by your individual needs. Sessions involve preparatory work to ensure you feel safe and supported. Throughout the process, you remain in control of what is explored, creating a powerful and empowering healing experience.

Services

Professional Supervision

Reflective Practice

I approach supervision from a reflective practice standpoint — offering a safe and exploratory environment for people to consider their practice and approaches, and develop their skills in accordance with their own goals. I have a keen interest in supporting experienced practitioners to achieve professional growth. Available face to face and online via Zoom.

EMDR Therapy

Individual, Group and Intensive Therapy Options

I am an EMDR-trained social work therapist experienced in supporting people to process trauma and distressing life experiences in a safe and empowering way. I offer EMDR in both individual and group settings — for historical, recent, ongoing events or unwanted behaviours including addiction. EMDR Intensive therapy is also available. I accept private funding clients and am a registered provider with ACC and Veterans Affairs.

Therapy Sessions

Therapeutic Support

Therapeutic sessions offer assessment and support for people who require a place to talk things over, work things out, or make sense of what may be getting in the way of the life they want. Together we explore what matters to you, using a blend of reflective conversation, EMDR resourcing, and — when appropriate — EMDR processing.

EAP Sessions

Employee Assistance Programme

EAP sessions provide support to people experiencing difficulty at work or in their personal lives. These sessions are funded by an employer with sessions allocated via the supplier. Services include therapeutic individual and couple sessions with a brief intervention focus, as well as onsite workplace debriefing for critical incidents.

Let's Focus on YOU

These sessions focus on you - whether you need to talk it over, make sense of something, or simply be heard by someone who is genuinely interested in supporting you to figure it out. A space to explore what matters, what's getting in the way, where you want to go, how to get there, and how you'll know when you have arrived!

Private Paying Clients

An invoice for full payment of session will be sent at time of booking request. The session will be confirmed once payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule, a minimum of 48 hours notice is needed or full payment for the session is charged.
